This project was to build a new extension to the existing outdoor centre for use as a bunkhouse resident for the tourist attraction.

The main challenge that TIR successfully worked around was undertaking the work while the centre continued to be operational with resident staying (including large groups of young children). Because of this, there was a particular focus on ensuring safety levels on site, and ensuring that materials and work in progress was safely locked or cordoned off when unoccupied.

Stages also involved underpinning the existing building, which was scheduled to take place at convenient timing when paying residents would be vacant from the building.

Being located in a rural setting, there was also challenges to overcome getting materials delivered via heavy goods vehicles. The only access to the site was via a single narrow lane, therefore requiring careful coordination and traffic management to facilitate.
